Dance Marathon Children & Families Grant

What is Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathon is an energetic and unforgettable 15-hour experience that is packed with fun activities, loads of food, great entertainment, and a lot of awesome dancing! To participate, students must register with our online fundraising platform and pledge to raise a minimum of $150 ($10 per hour of dancing) to support amazing local non-profits in the High Country! The 2020 Dance Marathon will take place on Saturday, February 15th from 10am to 1am in Legends on campus.
Last year, Dance Marathon raised over $50,000 for local non profits and this year we want to give you the opportunity to get in on the action!

What are the grant requirements?

1. Please review the drafted contract with grant expectations that you will be asked to sign upon being chosen as a Dance Marathon Grant recipient.
A) Provide diverse and hearty breakfast options for Dance Marathon  participants
A list of suggested items will be provided by the Dance Marathon Community Partner Liaison (Dance Marathon Committee member) after the grant recipient has been selected on January 21, 2020.
B) Provide diverse and plentiful snacks for participants throughout the day
A list of suggested items will be provided by the Dance Marathon Community Partner Liaison (Dance Marathon Committee Member) after the grant recipient has been selected on January 21, 2020.
C) Supply (1) person to be present and thank participants for their participation during Dance Marathon check-in (9:45am-11am) on February 15, 2020.
D) Provide active and passive education to participants between the hours of 3-4:30pm
Speaking from agency representative to all participants about the agency, its mission, history, how to get engaged with the organization. 
Have supplies to fill a 3 foot by 2 foot table that includes agency information and ways for students to get involved (e.g. sign up sheets for upcoming events where volunteers are needed)
2. Dance Marathon Grant supports children and families of the High Country.
In the application, you will be asked to develop a grant proposal. Keep in mind that this grant will be awarded to a proposal that is focused on a program and/or organization that works directly with children and families in the High Country. 
What is the award amount?
If your organization is chosen as a recipient of this grant you will be entitled to 10% of the amount raised at Dance Marathon. This year, our baseline goal is to have 300 dancers registered, resulting in roughly $45,000 raised. 300 dancers x $150 fundraised each = $45,000 Goal 
If our goal is met and your organization fulfills the Community Partner Contract, your organization would receive at least $4,500. 10% of $45,000 = $4,500
