Designated Service-Learning Faculty Program
As a result of the commitment it takes to be a service-learning faculty, the ASU Service-Learning Faculty Task Force has implemented a Designated Service-Learning Faculty Program to recognize and reward faculty for their dedication to improving their teaching effectiveness, as well as engaging in scholarship/service within the service-learning field. We hope to provide "novice" faculty with opportunities to engage more fully in the field of service-learning, while also improving their pedagogical methods. We encourage faculty to participate in this program as a way to enhance their tenure and promotion portfolios.
The ASU Service-Learning Faculty Task Force will review and oversee this annual review process. A letter of interest in this program, curriculum vita, and supporting materials are due on November 1st to the ASU Service-Learning Coordinator. Please submit materials via campus mail (Clark Maddux, ACT, 231 Plemmons Student Union), email (madduxhc@appstate.edu), or fax (828-262-2937).
For opportunities to get started on your pedagogy or scholarship and service to become a designated service-learning faculty, please contact Clark Maddux (see above for contact information).
