The BIG Sale

It's hard to put words to such a flawless day.  The sun was shining, students enthusiastically moved back to campus, and the 14th annual BIG Sale raised $20,812.09 for 3 local non-profits to improve the energy efficiency of their organizations!  Congrats to the ACT team for such a successful event and thanks to students, staff, faculty, and the community for their support.

Funds from this 14th annual event sponsored by ACT, University Housing, ASU Physical Plant, and Sustain Appalachian will benefit Avery County Habitat for Humanity, FARM Cafe, and the Farm Incubator Grower's project (FIG) at Maverick Farms by providing mini-grants to improve the energy efficiency of their facilities and operations. Proceeds will also support an international service-learning scholarship for ASU students.

A green program from start to finish, coordinated by our very own Mountaineers!

At last year's BIG Sale, a jaw-dropping $21,062.38 was raised to benefit:

Proceeds also supported an international service-learning scholarship for ASU students. It was an incredible day spent with incredible people in an incredible place. Thank you to all who volunteered, donated, and shopped!

Here is an update on how the Hospitality House used their BIG Sale grant: to install solar panels!
